Bring a piece of New Hampshire history with you.

Few symbols are as closely tied to New Hampshire as the Old Man of the Mountain. Although the iconic rock formation fell in 2003, its profile remains an enduring symbol of the Granite State and a meaningful part of New Hampshire history.

This ornament features our hand-drawn New Hampshire outline filled with a photograph of the Old Man of the Mountain captured by photographer Ed Cooper in the fall of 1973. “New Hampshire” and our signature looping flight path with airplane complete the design.

The Story Behind the Design

For generations, the Old Man of the Mountain watched over Franconia Notch and became one of New Hampshire’s most recognizable landmarks. Its profile appeared everywhere from road signs to the state quarter, becoming deeply connected to the identity of the Granite State.

Ed Cooper captured this photograph in the fall of 1973 on 4x5 film using a telephoto lens, preserving a view of the Old Man decades before its collapse.
