Situated on a hill overlooking Boston Common and the Charles River, Beacon Hill lives up to its name. Home to the Massachusetts State House and the Bullfinch Pub, better known now as Cheers, this neighborhood was once a lot taller until the top of the hill was chopped off to fill in other areas of the city, including the nearby Back Bay. But, if you’re walking to one of the many restaurants or retail shops, you should still expect a workout, it’s still hilly.
